Meet Your Allies: Krystal Slade

Care and compassion lives at the core of our Patient Safety Observers. We’re so lucky to have people like Krystal Slade on our team!

How many years have you been a PSO?

4 years.

What do you like most about the job?

I have a background working in a therapeutic capacity with psychiatric patients, so I feel very rewarded in putting my skills to work with them on a larger scale.

What did you do before and what do you hope to do in the future?

Before VirtuAlly, I was a registered behavioral therapist (RBT) working with children with autism. I am currently in school for my Funeral Director and Embalming certification.

What is your most rewarding memory from the job?

When a patient who was a high fall risk with a recent hip break was getting out of bed and no one was able to respond on unit immediately, I was able to talk her through holding the rail and lowering into the chair next to the bed to wait for staff to arrive.

What do you like to do for fun?

I love thrifting. Garage sales are my jam!

What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?
Peanut butter fudge

Our patients simply wouldn’t have the same experience without our incredible PSOs. Thank you, Krystal, for all that you do!
