Meet Your Allies: Marquita Haymon
Many of our Patient Safety Observers (PSOs) have long-term goals of working in the healthcare industry. They demonstrate their commitment by keeping patients safe through VirtuAlly’s Continuous Virtual Monitoring system.
One of our PSOs, Marquita Haymon, has been with us for over one year. Here’s a little more about her:
What were you doing before you joined the VirtuAlly team?
I was an Activity Director at an assisted living memory care facility.
What are your goals for the future?
To successfully launch my own skin care line – it’s currently in production!
What is your favorite part about working as a PSO?
Helping at risk patients feel more secure and that their needs are anticipated. I love building a rapport with them.
What has been your most rewarding experience working as a PSO?
Drug diversion. I once observed a visitor interfering with a patient’s care plan by bringing in harmful drugs in an Easter basket. I was able to stop it by getting an on-site care team member to check the basket before the drugs could be given to the patient. Needless to say, the visitor was not allowed back.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
Arts and crafts! Michael’s is my favorite place.
What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?
Strawberry Cheesecake
Thank you, Marquita, for all you do!
