Meet Your Allies: Tameka Mitchell
Many of our Patient Safety Observers have aspirations of growing within our company, one of those individuals is Tameka who has already grown from a Patient Safety Observer into the role of a Lead II Patient Safety Observer. Read below to find out more about her.
How many years have you been a PSO?
10 months
What do you like most about the job?
I love that I am part of the team that is able to keep our patients safe!
What did you do before you became a PSO and what do you hope to do in the future?
Before coming to VirtuAlly, I was a behavioral interventionist in an elementary school. I am currently looking forward to doing more with my Masters in Health Administration within the VirtuAlly team!
What is your most rewarding memory from the job?
I prevented a patient from taking drugs while they were in the restroom. This patient’s husband had mixed it up in a cup and was holding it up to the light in the bathroom when I noticed it was not a water or soda that she was trying to take into the bathroom with her.
What do you like to do for fun?
I love to travel! My favorite place to go to so far has been the Poconos.
What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?
Butter Pecan
Our patients simply wouldn’t have the same experience without our incredible PSOs. Thank you, Tameka, for your consistent contributions to the well-being of our patients!
